Crowd

This was the scene at the Daniel Romuldez Airport in Tacloban City. The place was crowded, as there were two planes to Manila and one plane to Cebu that passengers were waiting to board. the airport needs a major renovation as it has become rundown.

Flying over Leyte

Approaching Leyte from Cebu, I took this photo of the mountain range (Mandiwing, I think it’s called) that divides the island into the eastern and western sides. I’m happy to report that from the window of the aircraft, one can see that these mountains boast of lush forests. ;-)

Going home

I’m finishing up on tasks for the early part of next week as I’ll be flying home over the weekend. And when I think of home, part of the scenery that runs through my mind is the beach at Tolosa. The beach is just a few steps down the backyard of my grandmother’s house in Tolosa. We would usually spend our summers there, along with several other cousins.

Summer hideaway

On hot days like this season, some places come to mind. Like San Rafael’s Farm in Babatngon, Leyte. I visited this place way back in December during the last day of our All-Visayas Centennial Creative Writing Workshop. We had our closing ceremony at the restaurant that overlooks the man-made lake.
