I’m still having holiday hangovers. Perhaps because that was the first real holiday I’ve had in several years. The previous times I visited my folks, I always brought work with me (not that I wanted to) to be done during the lull between Christmas and New Year.
This time around, I still brought work with me — but mostly things I had to do online. With me sharing a dial-up connection with my sister (meaning, I could only work whenever she wasn’t using it), and the connection somewhat slow for my needs, I decided not to sweat it — working only on what had to be done immediately, like replies to email messages, etc.

I’ve been wondering why my post “To Ph.D. or to M.F.A., that is the question…,” and other related entries about a Ph.D. or an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (see here and here), has been appearing quite often on my Reads sidebar. When I checked my Sitemeter account, I found that a lot of readers (mostly from the USA) have been referring to it for whatever reason. Quite often, too, that it now ranks third in a Google search for “ph.d. or m.f.a.”
I just hope that that post has been a helpful one for readers.
