Jojo, my genius brother (I call him that because he’s way more brilliant than me), got a mention in Krip Yuson’s column in today’s paper. The article was Krip’s interview with painter Marcel Antonio, and the question was who were Marcel’s first mentors — aside from his parents, Angelito Antonio and Norma Belleza — or influences.

Displaying women

Our CL 122 (Critical Approaches to Literature II) class opted to translate the concepts, found in our readings on feminist theory and gender studies, into an exhibit. I knew they would take this option rather than having this whole unit in our final examinations. ;-)

But first they went through one whole afternoon session with Ms. Jean Claire Dy, Chair of the University Gender Committee and Creative Writing faculty member, who discussed with them the history and concepts of feminism and gender studies.

A pair of shoes left behind by one of the workers painting our school building in time for the Centennial celebrations. Life imitating art, or had he been eavesdropping in an AH 5 (Art and Society) or COMA 110 (Aesthetics) class?
